Network World Says You’re Doing IIoT Implementation “Wrong”

Network World says a lot of IIoT adopters are “going about the process all wrong” as they try to implement systems. This sort of automation is “far from simple,” and the outlet says the process has to be spearheaded by the line-of-business side of the company, and not necessarily the IT department. SAP and Endress+Hauser Partner Up

SAP and Endress+Hauser are partnering up to develop Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications for the process industry, according to Control Design. Apparently, both companies are planning to work closely together to develop joint solutions, sales, and customer implementation. The eventual goal is to integrate Endress+Hauser field instruments into the SAP cloud platform, and integrate master and sensor data and measurement values into customer business, logistics and production processes. They are also seeking to develop new digital services that can better focus on predictive maintenance and quality.

The Future of IIoT Includes Getting Smarter and More Secure

TechTarget reported on the future of IIoT, and came up with three predictions for where the technology is headed. For instance, the outlet predicts that as prices drop and capabilities increase, more facilities will get onboard with implementing smart IIoT processes. Secondly, TechTarget predicts that “a mix of cloud and fog computing” is the future of IIoT for most facilities, rather than packaged software and on-premises systems many use today. Finally, IIoT developers need to better examine security protocols and prepare for more creative cybersecurity attacks by identifying risks and solutions.

Aspen Technology Collaborates with Microsoft

Aspen Technology. the asset optimization software company, announced in early June that it will deliver IIoT advanced analytics and machine learning applications on Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing service. AspenTech’s aspenONE Asset Performance Management (APM) software will be extended to new assets and data sources using Aspen Edge Connect and Aspen Buy valtrex online Cloud Connect software, Automation.com reported.
