In the serial Chandra Nandni, Chanakya and Chandragupta Maurya are seen taking help from the Greeks after defeating them in the battle. It is shown that Chandragupta and Helena as husband and wife unite together against Magadh.

Though it seems interesting, it isn’t true. Chandragupta did fight against Dhana Nanda (not Mahapadma Nand), but without the help and support of foreign invaders. Moreover, he also fought against Greeks but that was after he became a Samrat and had already established the Mauryan Empire.

Chandragupta Maurya and Chanakya Won Magadh By Their Valor, Strength and Determination

It was Chandragupta and Chanakya’s aim, goal and mission to dethrone Dhana Nanda. For years, they prepared and planned for their objectives uniting several commoners as well as royalties who were against Dhana Nanda.

Though they had to face lot of upsets initially, their determination couldn’t stop them for winning over Magadh. During this time they had absolutely no connection with the Greeks.

Greeks Weren’t Involved In Chandragupta Maurya’s War Against Dhana Nanda

So, giving credit to them in Chandragupta Maurya and Chanakya’s victory would be wrong. It was their sheer penance, hardwork and patience that made them win Magadh. Why give credits to anybody who was not involved?

Besides, the whole plot of the serial disrupts the historic timeline as the cordial association of Chandragupta with Greeks came in the later stages of his life when he was already a Samrat of the Mauryan Empire, not when he was a struggler wanting to dethrone Dhana Nanda at any cost.
