You have claimed that Uddhav Thackeray has moved away from Hindutva….And this statement of yours makes it imperative to ask you….
What Exactly Is Your Brand of Hindutva???
Uddhav Thackeray has been the CM of Maharashtra for 2.5 years, out of which 2 years saw Maharashtra, and the entire country, ravaged by the pandemic and yet,
We didn’t see any dead bodies floating in the rivers of Maharashtra.
We didn’t see funeral pyres lit by 100s as bodies were dumped on the top of one another.
We didn’t have the people from our state walking 1000s of km to get home and dying while doing that.
We didn’t have people dying because rations weren’t available
When we had a shortage of oxygen we saw our CM directing 90% of the Industrial oxygen supply to medical aid
Our CM didn’t tell us to bang thalis and shout Go Corona Go
Rather he communicated with us and made us feel like he had our back.
Reassuring the common people, standing by them during disasters, giving them the courage to face a calamity…….
Isn’t that your brand of Hindutva??
In the last 2.5 years in Maharashtra..
We didn’t have any communal flare-ups
We didn’t have any rioting
No special courtesies were extended to any religions
Everyone was treated equally
We felt safe in our state, irrespective of our caste, religion or gender.
Equality, Fraternity, Liberty, Safety……
Isn’t that your brand of Hindutva?
Meanwhile in the States that are goverened by the party that you are choosing to align with…
Muslims have been lynched for what they eat
People have been murdered because of how they look
Women have been harassed because of what they wear
Dalits have been tied to jeeps and whipped with iron rods
Dalits have been shot to death because their marriage processions didn’t suit the fancies of someone
Hate speeches have been given on open forums
A man was burnt to death on live video just because he was a Muslim
Murdering people for their religion, harassing the women, and beating up minorities…..
Is that what is your brand of Hindutva?
I am not a Shiv Sainik, I have never been aligned to any political party in Maharashtra…but I have been born in this State and I grew up admiring Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
That Chatrapati who fought against the Mughals but not against the Muslims.
That Chatrapati who took everyone along with him irrespective of their religions, irrespective of their castes.
That Chatrapati who did not differentiate between people while doing justice
That Chatrapati who was feared by his enemies but loved by his subjects.
That Chatrapati who refused to do “chakri” of Aurangazeb, who was born in Gujarat btw, even when he was promised riches but rather chose to fight for Swarajya of Maharashtra.
That Chatrapati who did not need your brand of Hindutva to establish Swarajya
That Chatrapati who you claim, you follow too….
So, I ask again……Eknath Shinde, what exactly is your brand of Hindutva????
