Interview With Dr. Sushant Rajput: Featured in NationalViews 50 Under 50, Dr. Sushant Rajput is a new-age leader known for resilience, reinvention, and purpose-driven impact. As Vice President at eClerx Services Ltd., Amazon #1 Bestselling Author, and two-time TEDx Speaker, he blends corporate excellence with human-centric leadership. His journey from global corporates to authorship and mentorship reflects clarity, courage, and consistency. Through his work, he continues to inspire India’s youth to grow with purpose rather than pressure. In this interview, he reflects on leadership, learning, and building impact beyond titles.
Q1. Dr. Rajput, your journey spans technology, investment banking, global business development, authorship, and mentorship. How do you define leadership in today’s corporate and social landscape?
Dr. Sushant Rajput: Leadership today is no longer about authority or titles; it is about responsibility and resonance. A leader must create clarity in chaos, courage in uncertainty, and confidence in people who may not yet believe in themselves. In a fast-paced corporate world obsessed with outcomes, leadership is about balancing performance with purpose and ambition with empathy. For me, true leadership is measured by how many lives you positively influence, not just the numbers you deliver.
Q2. You began your career in computer science and moved through marketing, investment banking operations, and global business development. What guided these transitions?
Dr. Rajput: Curiosity and courage. I never believed in limiting myself to one identity. Each phase taught me something different—technology taught me logic, banking taught me discipline under pressure, and business development taught me people skills and perspective. Reinvention is not abandoning your past; it is building upon it. Every transition sharpened my understanding of human potential and resilience.
Q3. Life tested you deeply with the loss of both parents within a short span. How did that experience redefine you as a person and a leader?
Dr. Rajput: Grief changes you permanently. Losing both parents within eight months broke me in ways I did not think I could survive. But pain, if acknowledged honestly, becomes a powerful teacher. I learned that strength is not about pretending to be fine; it is about rebuilding yourself piece by piece. That phase gave birth to my most authentic voice—as a leader, writer, and mentor. I no longer lead from theory; I lead from lived experience.
Q4. Your books have become Amazon Bestsellers because of their honesty. What gap were you trying to fill through your writing?
Dr. Rajput: When I entered the corporate world, I realized how unprepared most young professionals are—not technically, but emotionally and mentally. No one teaches you how to deal with self-doubt, pressure, procrastination, or fear of failure.
I Wish Someone Told Me This Before My First Job and Mindful Momentum were written to be companions, not instruction manuals. They don’t promise shortcuts; they offer clarity. I believe people don’t need motivation as much as they need understanding.
Q5. Your upcoming book, Courage Within: Indian Tales of Grit and Values, marks a new direction. What inspired this project?
Dr. Rajput: The idea began with a simple, honest question from my nephew: “Why can’t you write a book for children that teaches about values and character?”. That stayed with me.
Courage Within is my response to her wish, a modern-day Panchatantra for the Alpha generation. Rooted in Indian storytelling traditions but written for today’s world, the book explores grit, ethics, and inner strength without preaching. Interestingly, while it’s written for children, I’ve found that adults resonate with these stories just as deeply, because values and courage aren’t age-specific.
Q6. You are a two-time TEDx speaker, MBA faculty, and mentor to thousands of students and professionals. What do your sessions focus on?
Dr. Rajput: My sessions focus on what formal education often misses, which are career clarity, behavioural skills, emotional intelligence, and mindset. More than motivation, I help people build momentum when motivation runs out.
When students tell me they now see learning, failure, and growth differently, I know the session has done its job. For me, real impact lies in changing how people think before changing what they do.
Q7. You have received several national and international awards including the Atal Bharat Gaurav Sammaan 2025. What do these recognitions mean to you?
Dr. Rajput: Awards are humbling, not defining. They validate that the work is creating impact beyond personal ambition. Being awarded Atal Bharat Gaurav Sammaan under Excellence in Literature & Thought Leadership is special because it recognizes both thought and intent. Ultimately, these honours remind me that consistency and integrity always compound over time.
Q8. Your guiding philosophy—“Consistency beats talent. Purpose beats pressure. Humanity beats hustle”—resonates widely. Why is this message important today
Dr. Rajput: We live in an era of instant success narratives and relentless hustle culture. Talent without consistency fades, pressure without purpose breaks people, and hustle without humanity empties lives. I want people to grow without losing themselves. Sustainable success is built slowly, consciously, and compassionately.
Q9. What message would you like to give to young professionals navigating uncertainty and self-doubt?
Dr. Rajput: You don’t need to have everything figured out. Start with what you have, where you are. Progress comes from showing up consistently, even on difficult days. And remember, your worth is not defined by your designation. Growth is a journey, not a deadline.
Q10. Finally, how would you like your legacy to be remembered?
Interview With Dr. Rajput: If people say that my work helped them believe in themselves when they were struggling silently, that would be enough. I want to be remembered as someone who turned pain into purpose, words into wisdom, and leadership into service.
