As of 2022, there are well over 2 billion Christians worldwide. Because of this, it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to hear that thousands of Christian concerts take place each year.
If you’re interested in attending Christian music concerts in 2022 and 2023, you should make sure that they’re on your radar now. You don’t want to wait until the last minute to find out about Christian concerts in 2022 and 2023 and miss out on them entirely.
You can start putting together a list of Christian concerts you might be interested in attending by Googling “Christian concerts near me” or “Christian live music near me.” We’re also going to help you start to decide which Christian concerts you would like to go to over the next year by providing you with a list of options.
Here are 15 Christian concerts that you should consider attending in the coming year.
1. Casting Crowns
Believe it or not, the Casting Crowns have been around for more than 20 years now. This Christian rock band got its start way back in 1999, and they’ve been rocking stages all across the globe ever since.
Whether you’ve been a long-time fan of the Casting Crowns or you’re just getting to know them now, you’ll be happy to hear that they’re almost always doing Christian concerts here or there. It would be worth attending at least one of their live music concerts in 2022 or 2023.
2. CeCe Winans
CeCe Winans is another act that has been around for a long time now. She released some of her first songs more than 40 years ago, and she’s still going strong in 2022.
If you want to see just how strong her live act is these days, you should look into catching one of her Christian concerts in the coming months. Her discography is about a dozen albums deep right now, so she’s sure to have at least a few hits that you haven’t heard live yet.
3. Chris Tomlin
No one has as many Christian hit songs under their belt as Chris Tomlin does. He has 17 No. 1 songs and almost 30 songs that have landed in the top ten throughout his illustrious career. He has also released more than a dozen albums and sold over 7 million of them.
As a result, Tomlin has plenty of options to choose from when he’s putting together his set lists for his shows, and you can soak it all up by purchasing tickets for one of his Christian concerts. You’ll be amazed to see just how many hit songs he truly has at his disposal when he performs.
4. Phil Wickham
At just 38, it might not seem as though Phil Wickham would have as much experience as some of the other Christian singers and bands on this list. But he’s been around for almost 20 years now and has more than ten albums to his name.
That will provide Wickham with lots of material to pick from for his upcoming Christian concerts. It’ll also make his concerts a whole new experience for you even if you’ve seen one or more of them in the past.
5. TobyMac
TobyMac is a little bit different from some of the other acts on this list in that he’s both a Christian singer and a Christian rapper as well as a record producer behind the scenes. He’s also been part of the Christian rock/rap trio DC Talk and has done a lot of work on his own since leaving the group more than two decades ago.
TobyMac has an interesting backstory and a wealth of awesome music to share with the world. You should get to know him better and see if you can score tickets to one of his Christian concerts so that you’re able to learn more when it comes to what he’s all about.
6. Michael W. Smith
Michael W. Smith isn’t exclusively a Christian singer. Many people are familiar with him because of his 1991 hit song, “Place in This World,” which soared to No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 back then.
But Smith has recorded more than just songs for the mainstream. His discography is also filled with Christian songs that he routinely performs during Christian concerts.
Now 65, Smith might not be recording music and performing it for too much longer. That would make now the perfect time to see him on tour if you can.
7. MercyMe
At the present moment, MercyMe is one of the most well-known contemporary Christian bands in the world. This is due in large part to the fact that they’ve won or at least been nominated for a slew of Billboard Music Awards over the last decade.
The band has experienced a bunch of turnover since being founded back in 1994, but they’re still pushing forward and making new music today. You should show your support for them by showing up for one of their Christian concerts sometime soon.
8. Shane & Shane
Would you prefer to sit and listen to acoustic Christian praise and worship music as opposed to loud Christian rock music or Christian rap? If this is more your speed, you’re going to love what Shane & Shane bring to the table. They have a unique style that is unlike anything you’ll hear from other Christian bands.
Shane & Shane has also recorded quite a bit of music over the last 20 years. You should celebrate it all at one of their future Christian concerts.
9. Matthew West
Matthew West’s singing career almost ended 15 years ago when he injured his vocal cords and had to undergo surgery. But thankfully, he was able to make a return to music not too long after that, and he has continued to write, record, and perform Christian songs ever since then.
Because of his background, West always brings something a little extra to his Christian concerts and gives fans their money’s worth. You can experience it for yourself by being in attendance at one of his upcoming shows.
10. Newsboys
The Newsboys were first founded way back in the mid-1980s in Australia. But over the last three decades, they’ve found a home in the U.S. and are now one of the most popular Christian bands of all time in this country.
The Newsboys have recorded an astounding 17 albums since 1985, including a handful that have been certified gold in this country. They’re also one of the few Christian acts that don’t have any problem packing some of the biggest arenas throughout America.
11. NEEDTOBREATHE
NEEDTOBREATHE might have a history that dates back to 2000. But in recent years, they haven’t slowed up at all. They managed to release two brand-new albums in one year back in 2021.
NEEDTOBREATHE has also continued to tour like crazy over the last few years despite all the success they’ve already had. They aren’t going to go away anytime soon.
Even still, you shouldn’t just assume that NEEDTOBREATHE is going to be around forever and promise to catch them the next time they’re in town. You should buy a ticket to their next concert when they’re in your area and become a part of their lasting legacy by seeing them on tour.
12. Mac Powell
Mac Powell is no longer heading up the Christian rock band Third Day. The band decided to disband about five years ago. But that doesn’t mean that Powell has disappeared from the music scene.
Powell continues to record and perform as a solo artist. If you’re lucky enough to have him coming to your city anytime soon, you should purchase a ticket for his show. There is no guarantee that he’s going to stick around for the long haul, so you should see him before it’s too late.
13. Israel Houghton
Over the last few years, a lot of the news headlines surrounding Israel Houghton have centered around his marriage to pop star Adrienne Bailon and the child they welcomed into the world recently. But Houghton is also a contemporary Christian singer and worship leader who has been recording and performing for 25 years.
Houghton continues to record and perform with his backing band New Breed these days, and he’s also been lucky enough to be nominated for a bunch of Grammy Awards over time. He’s even won a few of them, most recently for the album, Covered: Alive In Asia, in 2015.
Houghton and New Breed don’t have too many 2022 or 2023 tour dates on the docket right now. But they’re always doing shows here and there so you should stay tuned for more from them.
14. Gaither Vocal Band
Although the Gaither Vocal Band has been around since 1980, they look a lot different today than they did back then. Bill Gaither has been with the band since the beginning, but the musicians surrounding him have changed early and often.
Still, the Christian band hasn’t lost its magic touch as it continues to win GMA Dove Awards regularly, which is something it’s been doing since the early 1990s. The band also continues to record new music and put on great performances both in the U.S. and in other parts of the world.
You should keep a close eye out for Gaither Vocal Band performances in your area, and you should also think about buying tickets for one of the many festivals that they’ll be performing at in 2022 and 2023. There is even a cruise you can go on in late 2023 that will feature performances from the band.
15. Big Daddy Weave
Big Daddy Weave suffered a tragedy in early 2022 that changed the band forever. Bassist Jay Weaver died after a bout with COVID-19. He had been with the band from the beginning when they first got their start in 1998.
Following the loss of Weaver, there was some speculation about where the band was going to take things next. Some people even suggested that Big Daddy Weave could potentially call it quits and stop recording new music and performing altogether.
But it doesn’t look like that’s going to be the case at all. In 2023, Big Daddy Weave is going to be heading out on their Only the Beginning tour, which already has Big Daddy Weave fans excited. Outside of the fact that it shows that the band is ready to push forward, it also indicates that the band might be gearing up for even more music and touring in the future.
If you haven’t ever had the opportunity to see Big Daddy Weave perform live, you don’t know what you’re missing. They’re an electric act that you’ll enjoy regardless of whether or not you’re a big fan of Christian music.
If you don’t attend any of the other Christian concerts that we’ve talked about here, you should make it a point to attend this one. You’ll get the chance to see what this new version of Big Daddy Weave can bring to the stage when you pop in for one of their many tour dates.
Which One of These Christian Concerts Would You Like to Attend?
It wasn’t all that long ago that COVID-19 sidelined all of the Christian acts on this list and made it impossible for people to attend Christian concerts. With this in mind, you should set out to make up for lost time in 2022 and 2023.
If any of these artists will be performing in your general vicinity, you should scoop up tickets for their Christian concerts. You’ll be treated to some epic performances from artists who can’t wait to get back out on the road.
