Women’s Day is celebrated every year on 8th of March. Luckily this year I was in Mulund, Mumbai. I was called by the members of the Laughing club, Govardhan Nagar, Mulund for inauguration.
Even though as a young woman brought up in a joint family with 10 siblings we never had the opportunity which is enjoyed by a woman now a days. We were taught some good sanskars of caring and giving. We were taught by the elders that the power of love and caring can change the world.
Women’s Day Celebration for Senior Citizens
When these women of the Laughing Club approached me to attend the function, I was really over whelmed with joy. It made me feel that the woman has to be appreciated for her work on this day.
All the members of the club joined together to have the function in their colony by lighting a lamp by the Senior Citizens including me. They had brought roses and a small sweet packet to offer to all the women there.
I was really honoured when a lady approached me and said, “May I have the pleasure of offering a rose to you.” All the women enjoyed the company of each other chatting and extending their views.
On the whole, I as a Elderly Citizen feel that every woman rich/poor is special in her own way & made her presence special in the society So, all the women have to be given importance on that day.
