After Maharabharat, Siye ke Ram and Chandra Nandni, Star Plus has come up with yet another magnum opus “Aarambh” – The story of the Aryans and Dravidians. Writen by K. V. Vijayendra Prasad, the writer of Baahubali, the TV show is greatly inspired by the movie.

Aarambh serial is directed by Goldie Behl and has a set of amazing cast. Let me introduce the Aarambh serial cast –

Karthika Nair as Devsena

The Dravidian queen Devsena is played by Karthika Nair, a prominent actress in the South Indian film industry.

She has done several films in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada language. 25 year old Karthika is the daughter of actress Radha and neice of actress Ambika. Karthika’s maternal grandmother Kallara Sarasamma was Mahila Congress leader during 2014.

Rajniesh Duggal as Varundev

The serial marks the debut of the smart and dashing Rajniesh whose face is popular on TV. He after all has done several Bollywood films 1920, Dangerous Ishq, Ek Paheli Leela with Sunny Leone and is also shooting for Murder 4.

Rajniesh started his career as a model. He has done several commercial ads – Raymond, Clinic All Clear, Monte Carlo, Yamaha and WagonR. Besides, Rajniesh is also a former Mr. India and winner of Khatron Ke Khiladi 5.

Tanuja as Hahuma

Veteran actress Tanuja, the mother of Kajol is seen essaying the role of Hahuma – the prietess/soothsayer and the protector of the Dravidian throne. Recently, the actress was seen in the 2016 film ‘Death In the Gunj’ directed by Konkana Sen Sharma. The show marks her TV debut and she looks quite a badass with snakes hissing all around her body.

Tej Sapru as Purohit of the Aryans

Actor Tej Sapru is quite a prominent face when it comes to historical serials. He was last seen as Seleucus Nicator in Colors’ Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat He played the role of Chanakya in ABP TV Series’ Bharatvarsh and essayed the role of Amatya Rakshasa in Imagine TV’s serial Chandragupta Maurya.

Haanssa Singh as Dayalini

Remember Meow in the movie Hunter? Well, yes, she is playing the role of Devsena’s aunt Dayalini in the serial Aarambh.  She has been a part of several Bollywood films including Krrish 3, Kartik Calling Kartik and Page 3. Here, she will be seen plotting against her own neice Devasana for the Dravidian throne.

Vipul Gupta as Veer Abhrook

The role of Veer Abhrook is essayed by the handsome TV actor Vipul Gupta. He was earlier seen in Meri Bhabhi, and also as Rahul in Vikram Bhatt’s web series ‘Maya’. As Veer Abhrook, his role in the serial looks interesting as he gives some serious competition to Varundev essayed by Rajniesh Duggal.

Joy Sengupta as Arvamudan – Devsena’s father

A stage actor, Joy Sengupta has done several.Bollywood and Bengali films. He was seen in Govind Nihalini’s Hazaar Chaurasi ki Maa and also in Vikram Bhatt’s Hate Story. Here, as part of the Aarambh serial cast, he’ll be seen as Devsena’s father Arvamudan.

The serial going by the buzz will have 100 episodes.
