One of the best aspects about any historical fiction is the war sequence. Though we have a detailed war description in novels and books, we hardly witness it on our TV serials.
However, for a change in Ekta Kapoor’s Chandra Nandni serial, there was a full-fledged war scene between Chandragupta Maurya and the king of the Nanda Empire.
Here we share reasons why the war shown on TV between Chandragupta Maurya and the Nandas was worth watching:
The War Appeared Real and Genuine
Except the flying scene where Rajat Tokas kicks off in circular motion and defeats the sons of the Nanda king, everything appeared genuine and authentic. The animation and VFX involved was in sync and this made things interesting.
Rajat Tokas as Chandragupta Maurya Looked Fab
His expressions, body language, dialogue delivery as well as actions – everything looked fabulous. The audience remained glue to their TV sets looking at him continuously.
Whether he warred on horse, with his talwar or barehanded in the war, Rajat Tokas simply bowled us over as Chandragupt Maurya.
The Combat between Chandragupt Maurya and Malayketu in Chandra Nandni
This one was an interesting combat where both the sides threw their talwar and fought with each other barehanded. The way they bumped into each other, threw each other with all their strength and might was quite intriguing. This gave us a real sense of the historical fiction.

The Chakravyuh Was Well Laid
Normally in any battle shown on TV, we do not find the makers showing the chakravyuh so precise like the way it was shown in Chandra Nandni. From the first to the last, the makers successfully showed each and every step how Chandragupta could easily break all the chakravyuh to reach Mahapadma Nanda.
In the serial, it is shown that he is waging a war against Mahapadma Nanda but in reality, Dhana Nanda was in the place of Mahapadma Nanda.

The Dialogue and the Action
Everything appeared interesting. The scene where Chandragupt and Nand come and talk in the battlefield, where Nand fears his defeat and where Chandragupta and Acharya Chanakya’s plan becomes successful – almost all the scenes appeared genuine. Not to miss the screaming and expressions of Nandini.
