Aarya Babbar who was last seen in Bigg Boss made his Television debut in Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanuman as Ravana. An interesting role, Aarya is more than excited to get into the shoes of the legendary personality.
While, we know a lot about the antagonist Ravana, here we shall focus on the life story of Aarya, the reel Ravana seen Monday to Friday on Sony TV
Aarya Babbar Was Inclined Towards Acting from The Very Start
Son of Raj Babbar (actor turned politician) and Nadira Babbar (theatre director and actress), Aarya Babbar was born in Mumbai on May 24, 1981. He has an elder sister Juhi Babbar who is a fashion designer and a half-brother Prateik Babbar (Late Smita Patil and Raj Babbar’s son). With acting running in his veins, Aarya was inclined towards this industry from an early stage of life.
He Entered into the Film Industry as a Male Lead in 2002
In the year 2002, Aarya bagged his first Bollywood project titled “Ab Ke Baras” with Amrita Rao. Directed by Raj Kanwar, the film doomed at the box office. While Amrita went on to become a popular B-Town actress, Aarya couldn’t manage to pull up his socks. His second film Thoda Tum Badlo Thoda Hum too flopped.
His Journey From Main Lead to Supporting Actor
Though Aarya Babbar couldn’t manage the show as a main lead, he was appreciated for his supporting roles. He was seen in number of supporting roles till date. It all started with Mani Ratnam’s film Guru where he essayed the role of Jignesh – Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s brother. In the same year he was also seen as Akbar Khan in Vic Sarin’s film ‘Partition’.
From the year 2008 till date, Aarya did several Hindi films as a supporting actor – From Priyanka Chopra starrer Champku in 2008, Jail in 2009 to Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan in 2010, Aarya essayed the role of Shreedhar, Kabir Malik and Inspector Dhurinder respectively. Aarya became a household name after he was seen locked up in the Bigg Boss room in season 8. Strange but true, Aarya was never recognized in films as much as he was noticed on TV. His fights with Puneet Issar (Duryodhan of BR Chopra’s Mahabharat) became the talk of the town and Aarya post Bigg Boss became a popular face.
Is Aarya Dating?
Well, it seems Aarya is dating an unknown Ludhiana girl. His family has met the girl, and they are even happy with Aarya’s choice. Aarya, earlier was dating Shrishti Nayyar, now wife of Rajat Tokas, the TV Akbar. The duo was engaged and their wedding date was also fixed, but due to some unknown reasons the wedding was called off.
Aarya Is Also an Author
In February 2014 this year Aarya Babbar released his debut novel – My Fiance, Me & #IFU**EDUP. The book was launched in Mumbai and the event was not only attended by close friends and family members, but also Aarya’s inmates from the Bigg Boss house. According to Aarya, his book is not a love story but story about how young people fu**up in love. Interestingly, Aarya has also written a comic book titled Pushpak Viman.
Aarya as Ravana in Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanuman
Aarya it seems is enjoying playing the role of Ravana – the most powerful and colorful role in Indian mythology. Nothing excited him more than playing the role of a powerful man when TV is full of women oriented TV serials. He is enjoying portraying the role of anti-hero Ravana, who will of course, create a lot of sankat for our Mahabali Hanuman.
We wish the reel Ravana all the very best for his debut serial!
