Amit Tandon was One of the 11 Finalists of Indian Idol 1
The first season of Indian Idol was a grand affair in India. After all, the reality show was first of its kind, and Indians across the world came in large numbers to join the contest. One among them was Amit Tandon.
Amit, an NRI was the second person to be eliminated among the final 11. However, though he was out in the second round, Amit gained both, name and recognition in the contest.
Amit was also a part of the video Yaaron (where the 11 finalist sang the famous song Yaaron by KK). Later, in 2008, Amit released his debut album TANHA.
Amit Tandon Entered the Tele World via the Balaji Route
There was a famous Balaji Telefims’ serial Kaisa Yeh Pyaar Hai if you remember. The main lead Angad essayed by Iqbal Khan went on to become a TV heartthrob.
However, there was yet another parallel lead in the serial – Prithvi Bose. Prithvi Bose was Amit Tandon. He got this role post his stint in Indian Idol 1.
Amit Tandon Was a Part of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is one of the most successful serial of the last decade. One of the longest running shows, KSBKBT had several leaps. With each leap came a bunch of new character. Post one such particular leap, Amit Tandon was born. He essayed the role of Tanya and Karan’s son Manthan.
Besides, he was also seen in another show named Saath Saath Banayenge EK Aashiyan, where he played the role of a NRI Abhay Singh. He is mostly remembered for his role as Dr. Abhimanyu Modi in Star One’s Dil Mill Gaye. The show starred today’s big names such as Karan Singh Grover and Jennifer Winget.
Amit who had the privilege of working with Balaji Telefilms played a vital role in Jeannie Aur Jiju. He was Rahul/Jimmy – Jia’s love interest.
Amit Tandon in Reality Show
Indian Idol was not the only reality show which Amit did. Besides, this singing contest, he also participated in two other reality TV shows.
In Zara Nachke Dikha – a Star Plus dancing competition, Amit participated as a contestant in the Boys team. The show was anchored by Amit’s co-star Shweta Gulati of Dill Mill Gaye and the Alone star Karan Singh Grover. It was judged by Chunky Pandey and the Munni girl Malaika Arora Khan.
Besides, Amit along with Amit Sana (runner up of Indian Idol) was also a challenger in another reality show Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar – A series where all the ex-winners and participants of reality singing competition contested for the title.

Born on April 11, 1979, Amit is a NRI from America. He studied in an American University.
