Finally the long awaited serial Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani will be going live from next week on Zee TV. After a long time, we will not just watch Drashti Dhami on screen, but also a period drama set in the Pre Independence period. The serial looks promising and so is the entire Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani cast.

Drashti Dhami as Gayatri Seth
Gayatri is the daughter of Gopal Seth, the biggest money lender in the state. She is a manglik and has no future. However, fate brings her in front of the Royal family of Ameerkot. Next, she marries the royal family’s Rana Indravadhan Singh Deo. Gayatri is Rana’s second wife – he is still mourning the death of his first wife but marries the commoner. Gayatri realizes that becoming a queen not necessarily means it is the beginning of happiness.
The role is being played by TV’s Madhubala and fans most beloved Drashti Dhami. After a gap of 11 months, DD will finally be seen on TV screen and it would be interesting to see her once again in a de-glam role for Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani.
Siddhant Karnick as Prince aka Rana Indravadhan Singh Deo
Once Rana Indravadhan Rao was very happy-go-lucky man however circumstances changed him forever. His wife died and soon he shifted his base to participate in World War. Too depressed with the death and demise he witnessed in the bloody wars, Rana is an emotional turmoil ever since he returned back. A prince, he is extremely fond of music and even plays piaono mostly to express his emotions.
Siddhant Karnick will be seen as Rana Indravadhan Singh. He debuted a decade ago with Star One’s Remix, and was also seen in the channels other TV show – Pyar Kii Ek Kahaani. Last year, he was also seen as Sagar in Gustakh Dil. Siddhanth has also done Bollywood films – Lafangey Parindey and Listen…Amaya.
Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani Cast – Rajmata Priyamvada Is Played by Anita Raj
Rajmata Priyamvada might be old but she is quite modern at heart. She manages everything at the palace with the help of her another son Chandravadhan Singh Deo. However, she has a bad habit of drinking and sometimes she drinks way too much.
The role of Rajmata Priyamvada is being essayed by veteran actress Anita Raj. A noted Bollywood actress, she has done several films from 1981 till 2012. She was also seen in 2013 Indian TV Series 24 where she played the role of Nita Singhania, and as Anshuman’s mother in Tumhari Pakhi.
Akshay Anand as Rajmata’s Brother and Rana’s uncle
This uncle is an antagonist who will be seen as Rajmata Priyamvada’s brother. This character will be essayed by Akshay Anand who was last seen in Saat Phere and Choti Maa. It is believed that Akshay will once again share screen space with his Saat Phere costar Surekha Sikri in Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani serial.
Ajay Arya as Lakshya Raj
Lakshya Raj is the maternal cousin of Rana Indravadhan Singh Deo. Though he is the son of an antagonist, Lakshya is a positive character. However, it is said that Lakshya changes with time in the serial.
Another addition to the Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani cast is Ajay Arya who has done several past shows including Geet, Kasturi, Mai Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki and Navya.
Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani Cast – Kartik Soni as Gayatri’s Elder Brother
Gayatri’s elder brother is very strict and is a believer of Indian ideologies. What’s more, being elder he is also very protective about his sister and cares about his family very much. This role will be enacted by Kartik Soni. Kartik was seen in Colors TV Sanskaar as Dilip.
Pawan Mahendru as Divanji
Divanji is very loyal to the royal family of Amerkot. He is a Rajmata loyalist and the caretaker of the royal palace. Divanji is being played by Pawan Mahendru who was last seen in Uttaran again a Colors TV serial.
The entire Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani cast looks powerful, makes us wonder how impactful will be this Zee TV serial!
