Shaheer Shaikh Is Salim

The role of Mughal Emperor Akbar’s son Salim (later Mughal Emperor Jahangir) is played by actor Shaheer Shaikh. Shaheer who was last seen in Sony TV’s Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi is a popular face on TV not just in India but entire Asia. People in Indonesia love and adore him as much as he is loved in India. He has done several TV shows including Star Plus’ Mahabharat where he essayed the pivotal role of Arjun. Here, in the show he will playing the role of a rebel son of Akbar and ardent lover of Anarkali.

Uzair Basar as Young Salim

Child actor Uzar Basar is seen playing the role of a young Salim. Uzair earlier was seen in Star Plus’ Siya Ke Ram where he played the role of Luv.

Shahbaaz Khan played the role of Hyder Ali in 1989’s The Sword of Tipu Sultan, Kunwar Virendra Vikram in Chandrakanta (1994), Bairam Khan in Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap and is playing the role of Badshaah Akbar in Dastan-E-Mohabbat. Son of classical singer Ustad Amir Khan, Shahbaaz has been an integral part of both, TV and Bollywood from the 1990s. Some of the Bollywood film that he has done in the past includes Masti, Agent Vinod, Raju Chacha, Badal, Chal Mere Bhai, Major Saab, Ziddi and Raja Ko Rani Se Pyaar Ho Gaya.

Aruna Irani is Akbar’s mother Hamida Banu Begum

The role of Akbar’s mother and Salim’s grandmother Hamida Banu Begum is played by veteran actor Aruna Irani. Irani was last seen in the serial Porus where she played the role of a priestess who foretells Alexander’s future. Aruna Irani is a popular name in Hindi film industry and her contribution in Indian Television is also worth appreciating.

Gurdeep Kohli Punj as Jodha

Dr. Juhi of Star TV’s Sanjivani is back on TV and here she is playing the role of Akbar’s wife Jodha and biological mother of Salim. When it comes to acting, Gurdeep is known to give a power packed performance. Last year, she was seen as Athilya Devi in Zee TV’s Sethji. Some of the TV serials that she has done in past includes Arjun, Dil Ki Baatein Dil Hi Jaane, Diya aur Baati Hum, Kasam Seh, Bhabhi, Best of Luck Nikki and Sindoor Tere Naam Ka.

Tasneem Shaikh is Ruqaiyya Begum

During the early 2000s, Tasneem was seen as a girl next door in several prominent TV serial. She played the role of Kkusum’s sister in Ekta Kapoor’s Kkusum and was later seen as Kajol Basu in Kasauti Zindagi Kay, Renuka Bajaj in Kumkum and Priya Mathur in Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand. Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya fame Parvati Sehgal (Komal) will be seen playing the role of Akbar’s second wife – Salima Sultan Begum. Salima was Bairam Khan’s widow and Akbar’s cousin as well. In the past, she was seen in Life Ok’s Gustakh Dil where she played the role of a modern Delhi girl Ishana.

Piyush Sahdev Is Abu Fazl

Abu Fazl was not just one of the Navratan in the court of Mughal Emperor Akbar but also the writer of his biography. An important figure, the role of Abu Fazl is being played by actor Piyush Sahdev last seen as Samay in Jennifer Winget starrer Beyhadh. Over the years, he has done several TV shows including Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, Devanshi, Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai, Hum Ne Li Hai Shapath and Mann Ki Awaz Pratigya.
