We all love science fiction. Don’t we? Science fiction is inspirational creativity. As the saying goes, ‘today’s science fiction is tomorrow’s science fact’. We can see its impact on a greater level more than ever. During the 1970s the first handheld mobile device was inspired by the communicator device that was used in Star Trek.

The idea of rocket building came from H.G. Well’s classic novel, War of the Worlds. Similarly, Jules Verne, a renown French literary figure helped envisioning submarines and helicopters. There are so many more but through such ahead-of-its-time ideas, now – anything is possible.

And with unthinkable advancements in technology greater things are bound to take place. Little did we know that such fiction of the past decade would become a reality of today, driven by the brightest minds in the world.

The world has ushered into a digital revolution and the need for innovation in IT is now greater than ever. Almost everything in our business ecosystem has the potential to be automated. Advancements in fields such as Machine Learning and Neural Networks have given rise to Artificial Intelligence, a revolution in computer technology credited to the IT geniuses of today.

Engineers of today will be the builders of a brighter, sustainable and empowered tomorrow. To build an efficient world, we are evolving towards a future where software engineers will create systems to automate and learn tasks to reduce human intervention. So it is crucial for the brightest minds of today to get the best in education to help them unleash this potential.

Each year, millions of students face the dilemma of choosing the right institute, one that will enable them to match industry requirements and help build a career in the field of technology. The vast number of institutes can simply overwhelm a young mind. Every institute markets itself to be the ideal gateway to an exciting career in the field of one’s choice. Unfortunately, what most students really want is an insight into how their lives will be during those crucial years of education.

While most institutes offer opinion columns, blogs, galleries and virtual walkthroughs, it still falls short of addressing a student’s concerns. What one would really want is a first-hand account of life at the institute. Most would rely on friends who are currently pursuing courses in the institute, but only a lucky few would have friends in every institute of choice.

It’s time, institutes address these concerns, and at UTS:INSEARCH, they have taken that step with their Insiders program. It is their goal to ensure every prospective student out there can gain a first-hand experience of how his or her next few years will be at their institute.
