Rajkumar Ashoka killed Rajkumar Sushim in the battle of succession post the death of their father Samrat Bindusar. It is assumed that Rajkumar Ashoka went in his brutal form and killed his own brother Sushim because he killed his mother Rani Dharma.
This makes us wonder whether Sushim troubled Rajkumar Ashoka’s wife – Devi and Kaurwaki? Though there is little information, it seems Sushim did created problems for Ashoka’s wife.

Rajkumar Sushim Tried to Kill a Pregnant Devi
It is said that Rajkumar Sushim wanted to seek revenge from Ashoka so in order to make him weak, he attempted to kill his pregnant wife Devi. As we all know Ashoka’s first wife was Devi and she gave birth to Ashoka’s first son Mahendra.

Though the serial and film shows Sushim troubling Kaurwaki, there is no evidence as such. No wonder, Ashoka married Kaurwaki during the later stages. After all, Kaurwaki is the second or third wife of Ashoka. Besides, there are no written facts, documents that narrate Sushim’s ill mannerism against Ashoka’s wife or women in general.
However, the serial Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat being a fiction show is trying to explore almost all the angles.
