Often in our daily lives we use a common adage, “Tum karo toh chamatkar, hum kare to b***tkar”. Surprisingly, this is precisely what is happening in the TV serial Swaragini written by Sharad Chandra Tripathi and others.
The male protagonist Laksh Maheshwari along with his family is being punished brutally for kidnapping Ragini, the female protagonist (or should I say antagonist) and even trying to kill her.

When Ragini Was Exposed Nobody Punished Her, Forget Calling Police
Ragini kidnapped Swara and even tried killing her on her wedding day. She was royally exposed in front of everybody with proofs and enough evidence. However, nobody did anything to her except ignoring her all the time.
Moreover, nobody called Police for her gruesome acts, but readily gave her a second chance when she did a drama of partial memory loss. Both the families specially the Maheshwaris accepted Ragini once again so that she gets well soon.
This so called Adarsh Dadi of Ragini didn’t call Police that time but cried in front of the Maheshwari to accept Ragini after her partial memory loss drama. Remember the scene when Ragini accused Sanskar of raping her?
But now that,
Laksh Has Committed the Same Crime in Swaragini as that of Ragini, He Has Been Sent to Jail
Laksh’s crime is exactly same as that of Ragini. While, Ragini was set free, Laksh has been handed over to the police.

Interestingly, the daadi even wants to own the Maheshwaris and this is the reason she strikes a deal – Property of Maheshwaris on the name of Ragini to set Laksh free from the jail. While, Durgaprasad agrees to save Annapurna’s life, others look blankly like fools including Shekhar, Shomi, and Swara.
This is downright disgusting as it is full of flaws. I wonder, why the writers of Swaragini want to assume that the viewers are brainless and can take any crap thrown on them. Had it been a film with such a twist it would have been a major flop.
Swaragini was one of the most intriguing TV serials these days but wonder why the writers want to switch on a track that is not only senseless but also tastleless.
