#ArrestCHORasia seems to be trending on Twitter. The man in question is Deepak Chaurasia – Journalist and News Anchor of India News. The journalist is in news all over again due to the same show ‘Salakhein’ that he had telecasted on the infamous Asaram Bapu case for allegedly molesting a minor girl in his Ashram.
While, the controversial show created quite a stir, it is in news once again as Asaram followers are behind Chaurasia once again. Let us look into some of the controversies surrounding Deepak Chaurasia:

AAP Sting Operation and Deepak Chaurasia
A sting operation was conducted by Media Sarkar in November 2013 ahead of the Delhi elections and run by India News. The sting operation allegedly showed several of the AAP leaders agreeing to assist in land deals in return for donations in cash.
Several party leaders including the senior party members Shazia IImi and Kumar Vishwas were seen in the video. The video accused the then Delhi CM Candidate Arvind Kejriwal, the party conveyor for selling one of the constituency seats for a shocking amount of Rs. 2 crore.
However, the Aam Aadmi Party claimed that the video footage was doctored following which a defamation case was filed against Deepak Chaurasia, the News Editor-in-Chief of India News along with the CEO of India News Vinod Sharma and CEO of Media Sarkar Anuranjan Jha for damaging the reputation of Aam Aadmi Party.
Deepak Chaurasia and India News Booked for Telecasting Controversial Statements of Asaram Spokesperson
In August 2013, the spokesperson of Asaram Bapu, Ms. Neelam Dubey passed controversial comments against Guru Nanak – the first Guru of Sikhs in a show hosted by Deepak Chaurasia on India News. Soon, DSGMC – The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee filed a case on Neelam Dubey as well as on Chaurasia for repeatedly playing the footage despite knowing that whatever Ms. Dubey said was factually incorrect. The topic of the debate was on the subject matter of Rape allegations against Godman Asaram Bapu.
A FIR was lodged against Deepak Chaurasia by Asaram’s Follower Sanjay Patil
In December 2013, a criminal case was registered on Deepak Chaurasia for running a concocted show on Asaram Bapu who was arrested with an offence of molesting a girl in his ashram. According to the FIR, Chaurasia had tampered documents and aired on the show titled ‘Salakhein’. However, soon Deepak filed a writ petition and challenged the charges levied on him. In his petition, he stated that he had made a bonafide telecast and whatever was shown in the programme was based on a CD filed by the prosecution in Jodhpur Court against Asaram.
Post submitting the writ petition and clearing that the CD was not at all tampered, the Allahabad HC stayed the arrest of the journalist.
